The Case for Activity Intelligence
Why enterprise leaders need a behavioral data layer to make the workforce decisions that matter most
Enterprise organizations make their most consequential workforce decisions, from managing attrition to justifying AI investments to assessing whether a new initiative has the capacity behind it, with data that is fundamentally incomplete. The tools available to most leaders today capture who employees are, what they report, and what events have already occurred. None of them capture what employees are actually doing, in real time, across the full range of tools and workflows that define how work gets done.
This gap has always been costly. In the current environment, where AI transformation is accelerating, hybrid work has changed how teams function, and the pressure to demonstrate ROI on technology spend has never been higher; it has become a strategic liability.
Activity Intelligence is the behavioral data layer that fills this gap. This paper explains what it is, why it represents a genuinely new category of enterprise data, and how HR, Sales, and IT leaders are using it to make faster, more accurate decisions across workforce planning, revenue performance, and technology investment.
Your most important business decisions are being made without your most important data.
Every enterprise organization has workforce data. The problem is that the data available to most leaders is either too lagging, too self-reported, or too siloed to drive meaningful action.
Engagement surveys measure sentiment at a single point in time, reflecting how people felt on the day they completed the survey. HRIS data records events after they have already happened. CRM data shows what was logged, not what was actually done. Manager check-ins reflect whatever the employee chooses to share. Utilization reports capture seat assignments, not genuine adoption.
Each of these sources has value on its own. Together, they still leave a significant gap: the behavioral layer. The continuous, objective signal of how work actually gets done, across every team, every tool, and every day.
That gap matters in ways that compound. When a high-value employee begins to disengage, the behavioral change appears in the data weeks before it surfaces in a conversation. When an AI tool your organization invested in isn’t changing how people work, the signal is there in adoption patterns, if you have a way to read it. When a sales team misses pipeline targets before quarter-end, the leading indicators exist in rep activity data, not in end-of-period CRM reports.
Most organizations find out about these problems after the fact. Activity Intelligence gives leaders the lead time to act while there is still something to act on.
A new category of enterprise workforce data.
Activity Intelligence is the continuous, objective measurement of how work actually happens across an organization, captured at the level of the tools, behaviors, and patterns that define daily work.
Prodoscore captures this data by connecting natively to the tools your workforce already uses: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Zoom, Slack, and more than 80 other applications. For desktop-heavy workflows, legacy ERP systems, and specialized software that standard APIs may miss, the Prodoscore Desktop Connect agent fills the gaps, capturing activity without disrupting existing processes.
The result is a complete, consistent, and objective picture of workforce activity across the entire organization, delivered as actionable intelligence within days of implementation.
What the data captures
This is the data layer your HRIS, engagement platform, and CRM were never designed to provide. Prodoscore built it specifically for the decisions enterprise leaders are under pressure to make today.
Which tools your people use, how frequently, and whether usage reflects genuine adoption or surface-level engagement
Communication dynamics, cross-functional connection strength, and how your organizational network actually functions vs. how it appears on paper
Where your workforce is actually spending hours, and whether that allocation matches your strategic priorities
Whether the software and AI tools you have invested in are changing how work gets done, or sitting underused
The patterns that precede burnout, disengagement, and resignation, visible weeks before they surface in a conversation or an exit interview
Activity Intelligence applies differently depending on your role and your most pressing organizational challenges.
Know what is driving performance and retention before it is too late to act.
Most HR tools were built for a different era. Engagement surveys capture a single moment. HRIS data records events after they happen. By the time a retention problem surfaces, it is often too late.
Prodoscore gives HR and executive leaders continuous behavioral signals, identifying disengagement and flight risk weeks before a resignation is submitted, giving leaders the lead time to intervene and protect high-value talent.
Beyond retention, the platform supports capacity planning before a new initiative is committed to, identifies burnout risk among high performers, generates objective performance baselines that reduce bias in reviews and compensation decisions, and provides behavioral visibility into newly acquired organizations.
For people analytics functions, Prodoscore adds the behavioral layer that makes predictive models genuinely predictive. When activity data is layered with existing HRIS and engagement data, flight risk models gain the lead time needed for meaningful intervention. Organizational Network Analysis surfaces collaboration patterns and informal influence networks that never appear on the org chart, which proves invaluable for succession planning, change management, and understanding how restructuring decisions will ripple through the organization before they are made.
Key capabilities for HR and people analytics leaders:
Retention risk and early attrition warnings
Headcount planning grounded in real utilization data
M&A workforce integration planning
Burnout detection among high performers
Performance management with objective behavioral baselines
Manager coaching informed by behavioral data
See what your top performers actually do differently, and build every rep toward that standard.
Most sales teams manage without objective data on how reps actually spend their time. CRM data tells you what was logged, not what was done. End-of-quarter reviews tell you what happened, not what could have been different.
Prodoscore gives revenue leaders a clear picture of rep activity, time allocation, and behavioral patterns that correlate with quota attainment, giving every manager a concrete model to coach toward rather than a directive based on outcomes alone.
Native CRM integration and Prodoscore’s MCP capability bring Activity Intelligence into the tools your revenue teams already work in. Leading indicators of pipeline health surface before end-of-period results arrive. New hires who mirror top performer activity patterns ramp faster. Overloaded reps are flagged weeks before performance begins to slip.
Key capabilities for sales and revenue operations leaders:
Rep activity versus quota correlation
Identification of top performer behavioral patterns for coaching replication
CRM enrichment with behavioral data via native integration and MCP
Leading indicators of pipeline health
New-hire ramp acceleration
Burnout protection for high-performing sales talent
Know whether your technology investments are actually changing how your organization works.
Most organizations can tell the board which tools were purchased and how many seats were assigned. Very few can tell them whether those tools changed how people work, which is the only measure that actually matters.
Prodoscore provides the behavioral evidence layer that connects technology investment to workforce impact. The platform measures actual engagement with every tool across your organization, not just login data and seat utilization, but how deeply each application is integrated into daily work patterns across roles, teams, and locations. That data identifies which licenses are genuinely used, surfaces AI Superusers and what they do differently, and tracks AI adoption in real time so you can answer the board with data.
Prodoscore deploys in as little as 15 minutes, capturing activity volume and frequency in professional tools, not message content or keystrokes.
Key capabilities for CTOs and IT leaders:
Software license utilization and consolidation opportunities
AI tool adoption measurement beyond seat count
Identification of AI Superusers and replicable adoption patterns
Shadow AI risk visibility
Operational hours reclaimed through technology adoption
Board-ready ROI documentation for AI and technology investments
Activity Intelligence your legal, security, and HR teams can stand behind.
For enterprise organizations, any new data platform must meet rigorous governance, privacy, and security standards before deployment. Prodoscore was built with those requirements in mind from the ground up.
Prodoscore measures activity volume and frequency across professional tools. The platform does not capture private message content, keystrokes, screenshots, or live video streams. No passive capture features are active by default. Prodoscore supports organizational transparency with employees about what is captured and why, so Activity Intelligence strengthens trust rather than undermining it.
All customer data is stored in a secure data warehouse managed by Google Cloud Platform. Prodoscore uses AES-256 encryption for data at rest, with each piece of data organized into discrete encrypted blocks before it is written to cloud storage. Data in transit is protected via HTTPS, SSL, and TLS protocols. Mutual authentication is handled through digital certificates and per-instance shared key creation using Google Cloud Key Management System.
Prodoscore employees do not have access to customer data unless temporarily granted by an authorized administrator at the customer organization for troubleshooting purposes. User access within the platform is restricted and must be approved by an organizational admin designated by the customer. Your data is yours.
Prodoscore’s servers are hosted in a SOC 2 Type 2 compliant data center across multiple availability zones and regions. Google’s physical infrastructure, which underpins Prodoscore’s data storage, has been accredited under ISO 27001, SOC 1 and SOC 2, PCI Level 1, FISMA Moderate, and Sarbanes-Oxley. Prodoscore supports compliance initiatives, including GDPR and Privacy Shield.
Prodoscore supports Single Sign-On and Multi-Factor Authentication, with certified SSO for identity providers including Azure AD and Google Workspace. Authentication is delegated to identity providers that support the SAML 2.0 standard, aligning with your organization’s existing authentication protocols.
Active accounts can determine which data elements are retained, and data can be exported via multiple methods in compliance with GDPR Article 20 Right to Data Portability.
