To remove Desktop Connect from a Mac, follow the steps for your installation mode (Standard or Stealth).
Standard Mode Uninstallation
1 Open Finder and navigate to the Applications folder
2 Locate MyZenV2.app in the Applications folder
3 First, quit the app: right-click the MyZen icon in the Dock > Quit
Alternatively, open Activity Monitor, search for MyZenV2, select it, and click "X" (force quit)
4 Back in Applications, right-click MyZenV2.app > "Move to Bin" (or drag it to the Trash)
5 If you get an error "can't be moved to the Bin because it's open", go back to Step 3 and ensure the app is fully quit, then retry.
6 Empty the Trash (Finder > Empty Trash)
Stealth Mode Uninstallation
Stealth mode installs system-level files that cannot be easily removed via the Finder. Uninstallation requires Terminal commands or an RMM tool.
Contact Prodoscore support at support@prodoscore.com with:
- Your workspace URL
- Number of Macs to uninstall stealth from
- Whether you're using an RMM tool (if so, which one)
Prodoscore will provide the appropriate removal commands for your environment. Stealth uninstallation typically requires root/admin access and involves removing several system components.
After Uninstallation
- The device no longer appears as "Active" in the Prodoscore portal
- No new data is collected from that device
- Historical data on that device remains in Prodoscore (for audit purposes) unless explicitly deleted
- If the employee is reinstalled, they start fresh with a clean profile
Deactivating a User (Instead of Uninstalling)
If an employee leaves or goes on long-term leave, consider deactivating their Prodoscore account instead of uninstalling:
1 Navigate to Settings > User Management > Users
2 Find the user and click the kebab menu (⋯) > "Deactivate"
Deactivation:
- Stops data collection on their device immediately
- Prevents them from logging in
- Preserves their historical data
- Allows reactivation later if needed (without losing data)
Uninstallation removes the app entirely and may be preferred for device repurposing or returning to the organization's inventory.
