Apps & URLs Tracking

Apps & URLs provides visibility into which applications and websites employees use during work hours, categorized as productive, unproductive, or neutral based on your Productivity Rules.

Summary View

The Summary view provides a quick overview of application and website usage across your organization.

Widgets and Metrics:

  • Top Applications: List of the most-used applications organization-wide with usage hours
  • Top URLs: List of the most-visited websites with time spent
  • Top Categories: Which categories (Social Media, Productivity, Chat, etc.) are consuming the most time
  • Category Utilization: Pie chart showing the distribution of time across productive, unproductive, and neutral categories
  • Team-wise Breakdown: Comparison of app/URL usage across different teams

Detailed View

The Detailed view allows you to drill down into specific categories, applications, and even individual sessions.

Left Panel — Categories: Expand each category to see:

  • Total hours spent in that category
  • Number of unique users who used apps in that category
  • Productivity classification (productive, unproductive, or neutral)

Right Panel — Drill-Down: Click a category to see deeper details:

  • Applications: All apps within that category with hours and user count
  • Logs: Minute-by-minute activity log showing exactly when each app was opened, what was active, and for how long
  • Users: Which employees used apps in this category and how much time each spent
  • Usage: Summary showing the productivity category assignment

Download: Download detailed data as CSV for external analysis.

Applying Filters

  • Teams Filter: Multi-select to view usage for specific teams only
  • Users Filter: Drill down to a specific employee
  • Date Range Filter: Default is last 7 days; adjust as needed

Configuring Categories

The categorization of apps and URLs is determined by your Productivity Rules. To add or update categories, navigate to Settings > Productivity > Category Mapping. See Setting Up Productivity Rules for details.

Privacy Note: Without the Screen Details add-on, only the domain is visible (e.g., "google.com"). Full URL paths require the Screen Details add-on to be enabled.
