USB deployment is ideal for air-gapped environments where devices have no internet access, or when you want to leave no trace of visiting prodoscore.com on the target computer's browser history.

When to Use USB Deployment

  • Air-gapped environments: Networks with no internet access or restricted external connectivity
  • Privacy-sensitive deployments: When you want to avoid any browser history trace of Prodoscore
  • One-off or manual installations: Installing on a few machines without automation infrastructure
  • Remote workers with poor connectivity: Avoiding reliance on stable internet during installation

Step-by-Step Process

1 On your own computer (with internet access): Log in to the Prodoscore admin portal at https://[yourworkspace].ag.prodoscore.com

2 Navigate to: Profile icon (top right) > Download Apps

3 Select the operating system for your target machine (Windows or Mac)

4 Choose Standard or Stealth mode (see note below)

5 Download the installer file (EXE for Windows, PKG for Mac)

6 Insert a USB drive into your computer with at least 500 MB of free space

7 Copy the installer file to the USB drive. Do not rename it.

8 Safely eject the USB drive

9 Insert the USB drive into the target computer

10 Windows: Open File Explorer > USB Drive > double-click the .EXE or .MSI file. Follow the prompts.

11 Mac: Open Finder > USB Drive > double-click the .PKG file. Follow the prompts.

12 Complete the installation (user may need to enter their password or approve permissions)

13 After installation completes, the target computer can be air-gapped again. No internet is required for the agent to continue running.

After Installation

The Desktop Connect agent continues to function on the target computer. However, if the device is permanently air-gapped:

  • Agent cannot sync data: The agent collects local data but cannot send it to Prodoscore servers without outbound internet access
  • No portal visibility: Data appears as offline/inactive in the Prodoscore portal until connectivity is restored
  • Partial offline operation: If the device reconnects later (e.g., periodic internet access), the agent syncs all buffered data

Standard vs. Stealth: Standard mode is visible to the user (app icon in system tray/dock). Stealth mode runs invisibly. For air-gapped deployments, either mode works the same way — choose based on your visibility preferences.
