Mac Installation Validation

After installing Desktop Connect on Mac, verify that the agent is running correctly and the version is up to date.

Verify Agent Is Running

Standard Mode:

1 Open Activity Monitor (Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor)

2 Use the search box (top right) to search for "MyZenV2"

3 You should see "MyZenV2" process listed. If present, the agent is running.

4 Note: The app does not auto-start until the user logs out and logs back in after installation. If it's not running immediately after install, have the user log out/log in.

Stealth Mode:

1 Open Activity Monitor

2 Search for "zs" (the stealth process name)

3 You should see "zs" listed. If present, stealth agent is running.

4 Note: Stealth agent does not auto-start until after a log out/log in or restart. If not running, restart the Mac.

Check App Version

Standard Mode:

1 Open Finder > Applications

2 Right-click MyZenV2.app > Show Package Contents

3 Navigate to MacOS folder

4 Open the file named "version.txt". It contains the installed version number.

Stealth Mode:

cat /usr/local/zs/zs.app/Contents/MacOS/version.txt

Run this command in Terminal to view the stealth agent version.

Check Admin Portal for Latest Version

1 Log into your Prodoscore admin portal

2 Click your profile icon (top right) > Download Apps

3 The version shown there is the latest available. Compare to your installed version.

If the installed version is older than the latest available, the agent will auto-update within 24 hours (no action needed).

Common Version Discrepancies

Note: The version shown inside the MyZen app window (in the user interface) may differ from the installer version. The installer version (from version.txt) is the authoritative version number. This is normal and expected.

Connectivity Check

To verify the agent can reach Prodoscore servers:

1 In the MyZen app (if standard mode), look at the login status. If it says "Signed In" or "Punched In", connectivity is working.

2 Check the Prodoscore portal. Navigate to Settings > User Management > Users and find the user. If "Last Synced" is recent (within last hour), connectivity is working.

3 If Last Synced is very old (> 24 hours), there may be a network connectivity issue. Check firewall rules and ensure *.ag.prodoscore.com is whitelisted.

Troubleshooting

Process not running: Restart the Mac or have the user log out and log back in. The agent should auto-start after restart.
Old version stuck: Updates are automatic but can be forced by restarting. If the version is significantly outdated after a week, manually restart the Mac and check again.
License token in filename: If you renamed the installer before running it, the installation may have failed silently. Try again with the original (unmodified) installer filename.
