Shifts define the expected working hours for your organization or teams. Navigate to Settings > Workplace > Shifts to create and manage shifts.
Creating a Shift
1 Go to Settings > Workplace > Shifts
2 Click "Add Shift"
3 Fill in the shift details:
- Name: Shift identifier (e.g., "9-5 Standard", "Early Bird", "Night Shift")
- Start Time: When the shift begins (e.g., 09:00 AM)
- End Time: When the shift ends (e.g., 05:00 PM)
- Grace Period (minutes): Tolerance for late arrivals. Employees arriving within this window are marked "On Time" instead of "Late". E.g., 5 minutes grace period means employees punching in up to 5 minutes late are not flagged.
- Max Break Time (minutes): Maximum cumulative break time allowed during the shift. E.g., 60 minutes means employees can take up to 1 hour total in breaks. Exceeding this triggers Overtime Break alerts if configured.
- Weekly Off (days): Days when employees do not work (typically weekend days). Select checkboxes for Saturday, Sunday, or other off-days. Activity tracking is disabled on these days for employees assigned to this shift.
4 Click "Save". A confirmation message appears.
Assigning Shifts to Teams
After creating shifts, assign them to teams:
1 Go to Settings > User Management > Teams
2 Click on a team to open its details
3 Click the Team Info tab
4 In the Shift dropdown, select the shift for this team
5 Click "Save"
Managing Shifts
- Edit Shift: Click the pencil icon (✎) next to a shift name to modify its settings. Changes take effect immediately for all assigned teams.
- Delete Shift: Shifts can only be deleted if not assigned to any team. If a shift is in use, unassign it from all teams first.
Note: Shifts are assigned at the team level, not the individual level. All members of a team share the same shift. If you need different shifts for different employees, place them in separate teams.
