Livestream
IMPORTANT: Livestream is an optional feature that must be explicitly enabled by an admin. It is NOT enabled by default. Before enabling Livestream, review your organization's policies and applicable employment law to ensure the feature complies with local regulations and employee privacy expectations.

Livestream provides real-time visibility into the current work status of all enrolled employees, showing which application or website each person is actively using at that moment.

What Livestream Shows

For each active employee, Livestream displays:

  • Employee name and email
  • Currently active application/URL: Which tool they are using right now (e.g., "Chrome - Slack", "Microsoft Excel", "Jira")
  • Time on current activity: How long they have been using that application (e.g., "5 minutes on Chrome")
  • Activity status: Green = Active (keyboard/mouse activity), Yellow = Idle (no activity), Grey = Offline
  • Offline indicator: An airplane icon indicates the employee is not currently online/connected

View Modes

Grid View (Default): Each employee displayed as a card. Useful for visual scanning of team status.

List View: Tabular format showing the same data. Useful for sorting and filtering.

On-Demand Screenshots

If the Screenshots feature is enabled (requires Screen Details add-on), clicking on an active employee card fetches and displays the current screenshot from their device. The screenshot shows:

  • Current screen content
  • Active window title
  • Current application/URL
  • Timestamp of capture

Important: Screenshots are captured on-demand only when clicked — they are not continuously captured or recorded. This provides situational awareness without constant surveillance.

Filters

  • Teams Filter: View specific team(s) only
  • Users Filter: Search for a specific employee
  • Connection Status Filter: View only online employees, only offline, or all

Connection Status Indicator

A connection status indicator at the top of the dashboard shows the health of the data pipeline:

  • Green: All systems healthy, real-time data flowing normally
  • Yellow: Minor connectivity issues, slight delay in updates
  • Red: Connectivity problem, real-time data may be significantly delayed or unavailable

Privacy Safeguards

What Livestream does NOT show:

  • Message content — only that a chat application (Slack, Teams) is active
  • Document contents — only that a document tool is active
  • Keystroke data
  • History of past activities — only current activity

Best Practices for Responsible Use:

  • Inform employees that Livestream is enabled and explain its purpose
  • Use Livestream to understand team availability and current priorities, not to micromanage
  • Respect employee privacy by not continuously monitoring individual screens
  • Focus on team-level insights and high-level activity patterns
Enabling Livestream: To enable, navigate to Settings > Features > Livestream > Enable. You will be prompted to acknowledge that you've informed employees this feature is active.
