Mac System Requirements Last updated June 2, 2026 · Desktop Connect

Ensure your Mac devices meet the minimum system requirements before deploying Desktop Connect.

Supported macOS Versions

  • Minimum: macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) and above
  • Recommended: macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later for best performance and feature support
  • Current: All current and recent macOS versions (Monterey, Ventura, Sonoma) are fully supported

Note: Very old Macs (pre-2012) may not support the minimum macOS version. Check your device's maximum supported OS before deploying.

Hardware Requirements

  • Processor: Intel or Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4, etc.)
  • RAM: 2 GB minimum. 8 GB recommended for best performance, especially if running many applications
  • Storage: 500 MB free space for installation. SSD recommended (faster agent performance than HDD)
  • Battery: Desktop Connect runs continuously, consuming minimal battery on laptops

Two Installer Architectures

Apple Silicon (ARM64): For Macs with Apple Silicon chips (M1, M2, M3, M4). Download the "Apple Silicon" version of the installer.

Intel (x86_64): For Macs with Intel processors. Download the "Intel" version of the installer.

If you choose the wrong architecture, installation will fail. You can identify your Mac's processor at Apple Menu > About This Mac > Processor.

System Permissions

The following permissions are required after installation:

  • Security & Privacy > Security: Allow MyZenV2 from an unidentified developer (Mac requires this for third-party apps)
  • Privacy & Security > Accessibility: Enable MyZenV2 (allows the agent to monitor active window and application usage)
  • Privacy & Security > Screen Recording: Enable MyZenV2 (required only if Screenshots feature is enabled)

For MDM deployments, configuration profiles can pre-approve these permissions automatically so users don't see prompts. See Mac Standard Installation for manual installation permission flow.

Network Requirements

Outbound HTTPS (Port 443): Desktop Connect requires outbound access to Prodoscore servers on port 443 (HTTPS). Configure firewall rules to allow:

  • *.ag.prodoscore.com (wildcard, recommended)
  • api.ag.prodoscore.com
  • auth.ag.prodoscore.com
  • [yourworkspace].ag.prodoscore.com

Antivirus and Endpoint Security

If your Mac runs antivirus or endpoint detection/response (EDR) software, add exceptions for Desktop Connect to prevent false-positive blocks:

  • Standard mode: /Applications/MyZenV2.app
  • Stealth mode: /usr/local/zs/zs.app

Also exclude the LaunchAgent: /library/launchagents/launcher.ai.prodoscore.myzenv2.plist

Performance Impact: Desktop Connect uses minimal CPU and memory (typically < 5% CPU at peak, < 100 MB RAM). Modern Macs should not experience noticeable performance degradation.
