Stealth installation runs Desktop Connect completely invisibly in the background with no app icon visible to the user. The agent runs as a system service without user interaction.
Installation Steps
1 Download the stealth PKG. Log in to the Prodoscore admin portal > your profile icon > Download Apps > Mac > Stealth
Choose the correct architecture (Apple Silicon or Intel). The filename is encoded (e.g., eyJza2V5IjoiLi4uIn0.pkg) — this is normal.
2 Locate the downloaded PKG in your Downloads folder. Do not rename it.
3 Double-click the PKG file
4 A security popup may appear. Click "OK"
5 Go to System Settings > Security & Privacy. Look for the message about the blocked installer.
Click "Open Anyway"
6 Confirm: "Are you sure you want to open it?" Click "Open"
7 The installer window opens. Click "Continue"
8 Select the destination disk (usually Macintosh HD) and click "Install"
9 Enter your Mac login password when prompted. Click "Install Software"
10 Wait for installation to complete. You see: "Installation was successful"
Click "Close"
11 A notification appears: "MyZen Stealth is installed". Installation is complete.
No app icon will appear in the Dock or Applications folder — this is correct.
After Installation
MyZen Stealth will:
- Run invisibly in the background as a system daemon
- Launch automatically at system startup
- Collect activity data without user interaction
- Require no punch-in/punch-out from the user (assumes always working during business hours based on shift configuration)
- Never show a window or notification to the user
Activation and First Sync
The stealth agent does not start automatically until one of the following occurs:
- The user logs out and logs back in
- The user locks and unlocks their Mac (Control+Command+Q or Display Sleep)
- A system restart
Recommendation: Restart the Mac after stealth installation to ensure the agent starts immediately. Otherwise, it begins collecting data the next time the user logs in.
Verification
To confirm stealth installation is working (without user seeing anything):
- Open Activity Monitor (Applications > Utilities) and search for "zs"
- You should see "zs" process running
- Also look for "launcher.ai.prodoscore" process — both should be running
See Mac Installation Validation for detailed verification commands.
Stealth vs. Standard
Use Stealth when: You want invisible deployment, admin-managed systems, or corporate policies require invisible monitoring.
Use Standard when: Employees see the app icon, more transparency desired, or users need to manually punch in/out.
Both modes collect the same data and upload it the same way. The difference is user visibility and interaction.
